The actions of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) are broader than the Sunnah of deeds (Sunnah fi‘liyyah) and constitute an essential source for deriving Islamic rulings. While the authority (ḥujjiyyah) of the Sunnah of deeds is undisputed among Muslim scholars—supported by the Qur’an, consensus, and reason—jurists of the five schools of Islamic law have extended this authority to include the Prophet’s actions, offering additional arguments. Since the Prophet’s actions encompass both legislative (tashrī‘ī) and non-legislative (ghayr tashrī‘ī) dimensions, identifying their legislative aspects is crucial, given his role as the model for humanity. This research, using analytical-descriptive and library methods, concludes that the Prophet’s actions surpass the Sunnah of deeds, and the principle of legislation does not conflict with that of non-legislation. His natural, customary, worldly, extraordinary, specific, explanatory, and even simple actions—under certain conditions—are deemed legislative, serving as guides for juristic derivation and practical models for contemporary life.
