Due to its unique characteristics—namely decentralization, immutability, and transparency—blockchain technology has emerged as an innovative solution for enhancing the protection of intellectual property rights, particularly the right of attribution. This study aims to examine the role of blockchain in safeguarding the right of attribution of intellectual works and to assess the feasibility of its implementation within the legal systems of Iran and Afghanistan. The research methodology is descriptive-analytical, with a focus on the analysis of existing laws and the technical capabilities of blockchain. Findings indicate that blockchain, through mechanisms such as timestamping, digital fingerprinting, smart contracts, and the transparency of distributed ledgers, can facilitate the authentication and traceability of works, thereby preventing infringement of attribution rights. However, challenges such as the absence of specific blockchain regulations, conflicts with traditional legal principles, infrastructural limitations, and the digital divide in both countries present significant barriers to implementation. The study concludes that through legal reforms, the development of digital infrastructure, and educational initiatives, the potential of blockchain to reinforce attribution rights can be effectively harnessed. It is recommended that Iran and Afghanistan adopt specific legal frameworks and cooperate with international organizations to integrate this technology into their legal systems.
