Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Competitiveness in the Legal Profession: A Comparative Study of Iranian and American Law

Abstract
Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have had profound effects on the legal profession, significantly impacting the competitiveness of lawyers and legal firms. This article examines the impact of AI on competitiveness in the legal profession, focusing on the legal systems of Iran and the United States. Utilizing reputable academic sources and scientific articles, this study analyzes how AI is leveraged in legal processes and the associated challenges and opportunities. In Iran, the lack of specific regulations for AI use and ethical and security concerns are primary challenges. In the United States, despite legal advancements, issues related to algorithmic transparency and accountability persist. Findings indicate that AI can reduce operational costs by up to 25% Recommendations include enacting an 'Algorithmic Transparency Law' in Iran Based on the findings of this article, establishing appropriate regulations and standards, providing training and developing new skills for lawyers and judges, and the active role of governments and legal institutions are among the suggested solutions to improve the use of AI in the legal profession. Additionally, adapting international experiences to local conditions can help develop and enhance AI utilization in the legal field.
