This article examines the legal protections and special measures that are considered for persons with disabilities and the elderly in the process of criminal proceedings in Iran and international documents. At the national level, Iran's laws, such as the law on the protection of the rights of the disabled and regulations related to criminal proceedings, have provided measures to facilitate the access of these people to justice and ensure their rights during the proceedings. These measures include access to interpreters, use of assistive technologies, and appropriate physical facilities in courtrooms. In this research, an attempt is made to descriptively and analytically study the issue of supporting the rights of the disabled and the elderly at the international level, and considering Iran's accession to the 2006 convention, while analyzing this document, comparing it with internal regulations, especially the comprehensive law. Support the disabled. This article has been written considering ethical considerations such as honesty, trustworthiness in text analysis and citation. Finally, the article examines the challenges and shortcomings in the implementation of these laws and regulations in Iran and offers suggestions to improve the situation. These proposals include training judges and judicial staff, improving physical and technological infrastructure in courts, and increasing public awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities and the elderly. The final goal of this article is to strengthen the legal and practical protections for these people in the process of criminal proceedings and to achieve justice for all.
