Child abuse means any physical or mental harm, sexual abuse or neglect of the child's basic needs. Cyberspace as one of the new communication environments requires its own interactions, despite all the advantages and attractions of this space, one of the most important problems related to it is the rapid and widespread victimization of children, which is the child's curiosity and lack of recognition. And the speed and number of criminals in the cyberspace increases the vulnerability of children in front of the physical threats in social networks. The purpose of this research is to examine the legal responsibilities in the criminalization of sexual abuse of children in social networks in the criminal law of Iran, based on the examination of the existing laws, as well as legal-executive ambiguities and shortcomings, as well as the experiences of other countries, in a descriptive way. Analytical and comparative analysis has been done. Examining the criminal status and criminalization of sexual abuse of children in the cyber space in the codified law of Iran as well as the judicial and executive procedure has issues and problems such as ambiguity and unwillingness to follow up judicial bodies without the presence of private plaintiffs. The taboo, as well as the issues and consequences of raising sexual abuse in the real world, as well as being anonymous, filtering, and the inability to follow up on cyber, along with the time-consuming nature of such cases, are among the main problems in the field of crimes and sexual abuse of children. It is in cyber space in Iran. The spread of terms related to sexual abuse in other countries and the establishment of criminal laws related to it, taking into account its modernization and wide spread, shows the backwardness of Iran's criminalization in the field of children's cybercrimes. Therefore, paying attention to the micro and family dimensions, as well as informing about the types of abuses, as well as the national dimensions, and establishing up-to-date laws and implementing them in the executive routine and connecting with other countries, in the field of pursuing and protecting children's rights in the space Cyber can cover the international dimension of criminalization of criminal laws related to sexual abuse of children and bring maximum guarantees for children.
